Twitter has introduced the new Follow button. This is a new button, which helps people to follow Twitter accounts directly from the website. This new follow button is more or less like the facebook’s “like” button, which allows easy subscription. You can also see the profile and some of the latest Tweets of the account by clicking on the username which is next to the “Follow” button. In this short tutorial we will see how to add Twitter follow button to your WordPress Blog/website.
This new button really looks feature full. So now, let’s get started.
How to Add Twitter Follow Button
It’s really too easy. A few clicks and you will get the code. Get the twitter follow button by heading over to this page.
- Enter your username
- Choose background color
- Select if you want to show follow count or not
You can also see the preview of this button on the right side of the screen. Now that all settings are done, just grab the code from there and paste it in your website, wherever you want that button to appear.
WordPress Tip: If you are using WordPress, then go to Widgets and drag and drop the Text widget where you want this Twitter follow button to appear and then paste that code in this widget. E.g. if you want to display this button in sidebar, then insert that “Text” widget in sidebar.
