Microsoft has finally announced the pricing of Windows 7. Windows 7 will be available to the general public on October 22. It will be available in 14 languages on October 22 and in 21 languages on October 31.

Microsoft also announced the upgrade option, through which if you are purchasing a PC with Vista as operating system between June 29, 2009 to January 31, 2010, then you are eligible for the upgrade program. For more information, checkout here: www.windows.com/upgradeoffer. However, keep in mind that Jan 31, 2010 is the last date for the upgrade program.

In India, eight OEM’s have participated in this Windows 7 upgrade program, namely HP, Dell, Sony, Lenovo, Acer, Toshiba, HCL and Wipro. Under this program, anyone who purchased a new PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate, then you are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7. Now this is a nice news for the people who will be buying their new PC’s with Vista.

And now for those who want to purchase Windows 7, following is the pricing:

Windows 7 Home Premium: $120 for upgrade and $200 for full version

Windows 7 Professional: $200 for upgrade and $300 for full version

Windows 7 Ultimate: $220 for upgrade and $320 for full version

The offer ends on July 11 in the U.S., Canada and on July 5 for Japan or till stocks last. So guys, if you wanna purchase, then its better to pre order NOW.

Think of this just one time, do you really laugh when you write LOL or ROLFLOL. The answer would be “no”. Do you really mean What The Hell, when you write WTH? Previously we were just writing Grrrr.. to express our emotion of anger, but now these all things are changing. Don’t you think that we are living in a virtual environment.

Nowadays, we play more PC games or play games in Consoles (shiny new PS3 or XBOX360) rather than playing physical games, like going out and playing football.

So, what are we missing? We are moving away from our natural doings, like going out, playing, jogging, etc. Nowadays we love foruming, social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, our chats, our emails. These things have become more important for us, rather than hanging out with nature. So now, my point is to decrease our time doing all this. We should go out in the morning, which is the best time for breathing fresh air. Going out in natural places like beach, gardens, etc is also very important, rather than just sticking with our PC all the time. We must not just live in this virtual environment, where we just write LOL and forget what is laughing. So from now onwards, whenever you write LOL on any forum or in email, don’t forget to laugh, because thats a natural expression. But beware, there should not be anyone watching you, otherwise you know what will happen :)

Go on, love the nature, live your life, don’t just stick with the PC all the day, afterall good health is also very important.

For those who don’t kow, Fedora is a Linux based operating system. The new version i.e. Fedora 11 is released. Fedora fans have been waiting for this for a long time. As you know, Ubuntu and Mandriva are released, so now the concentration of FOSS users is mainly on Fedora 11.

Previously I was using Ubuntu 8.04 and now after the release of 9.04, I thought to give this new version a try. So, I installed this Jaunty Jackalope over my Hardy Heron. The installation was smooth like always. Ubuntu developers have made the installation easy, as compared to 8.04. I chose the new ext4 file system for my Ubuntu partition. One another thing, which I noted is that during installation, there was an option to directly login without entering username & password. A nice feature I would say. Read more…
