Microsoft has finally announced the pricing of Windows 7. Windows 7 will be available to the general public on October 22. It will be available in 14 languages on October 22 and in 21 languages on October 31.

Microsoft also announced the upgrade option, through which if you are purchasing a PC with Vista as operating system between June 29, 2009 to January 31, 2010, then you are eligible for the upgrade program. For more information, checkout here: www.windows.com/upgradeoffer. However, keep in mind that Jan 31, 2010 is the last date for the upgrade program.

In India, eight OEM’s have participated in this Windows 7 upgrade program, namely HP, Dell, Sony, Lenovo, Acer, Toshiba, HCL and Wipro. Under this program, anyone who purchased a new PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate, then you are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7. Now this is a nice news for the people who will be buying their new PC’s with Vista.

And now for those who want to purchase Windows 7, following is the pricing:

Windows 7 Home Premium: $120 for upgrade and $200 for full version

Windows 7 Professional: $200 for upgrade and $300 for full version

Windows 7 Ultimate: $220 for upgrade and $320 for full version

The offer ends on July 11 in the U.S., Canada and on July 5 for Japan or till stocks last. So guys, if you wanna purchase, then its better to pre order NOW.
