How to Unsubscribe from Twitter’s Weekly Email Digest

May 21, 2012 by Saqib Leave a Comment

If you are on Twitter then you may have received an email explaining new updates to Twitter and policies. One such not-so noticeable change is the weekly email digest. This digest is like a custom made newsletter that features the most relevant Tweets and stories shared by the people you’re connected to on Twitter.

Talking about design and how this weekly newsletter will look like, then this newsletter resembles like the Discover tab which displays latest trending stories on Twitter. But unlike this Discover tab, this new newsletter will display personalized tweets for each Twitter user.

Wait, does this mean that there’s an addition of one more email newsletter per week? Yes, this means that Twitter will send you this newsletter each week. The strange part is that this weekly email newsletter is automatically enabled/subscribed for all Twitter users. If you’re not active on Twitter or rarely visit this social media site, then you may not want to receive this weekly digest. If you want to opt-out from this new newsletter then doing so is easy.

Once Twitter finishes applying this update, you’ll start getting this newsletter. So if you want one less email per week (apart from those that you receive from other services), then follow the below method and get rid of the Twitter’s email digest.

Unsubscribe from Twitter’s Weekly Email Digest

By default, Twitter enables this option for all users. To disable/opt-out from Twitter’s weekly email, follow below steps:

  1. Login to Twitter
  2. Open the settings section by clicking on the avatar icon and then clicking on settings.
  3. From the sidebar, click on Notifications.
  4. From the Updates section, uncheck “A weekly digest of Stories & Tweets from my network”.
  5. twitter updates

  6. Click on Save Changes button.

That’s all you need to do. If in future you want this newsletter, then follow the same process and check mark the setting to receive weekly digest of stories and tweets.
