Watch Videos in Low Quality
This is something which we are already aware of. If you want to load video faster, then lower it’s playback quality. E.g. check the below highlighted area. If you are on a slow internet connection, then click on 240p.
You can also configure YouTube to always play the lowest possible quality. Click on Settings and you will be taken to a different page. (Sign in using your Google account)
Select “I have a slow connection. Never play high quality videos”. Do this setting and from onwards, YouTube will remember these settings.
But keep in mind that this will directly affect your viewing experience. There’s much difference between between 240p and 1080p. Watching video in low quality and on Full HD will be a complete different experience. You can try experimenting between 360p and 480p also. We can say that its about quality also, and not just about speed. The better the quality, the more will be the loading time. You will need to tinker around with these settings to strike a balance between quality and video loading time.
