How to Capture Screenshots in Android Ice Cream Sandwich

December 10, 2011 by Saqib Leave a Comment

Thanks to the new Ice Cream Sandwich, now we won’t need any application for taking screenshots. On older Android versions (like Gingerbread), people used to install paid apps like Screenshot it, but that won’t be necessary now. Ice Cream Sandwich comes with new improved user interface and some new features.

Take Screenshots in Ice Cream Sandwich

The new Ice Cream Sandwich natively supports screen capture functionality. Taking screenshots is very easy. Here’s how:

Hold down the Volume Down button and the Power button for about a second.

This correct key combination and its timing can get tricky sometimes. Now you will be able to see a notification saying that “Saving Screenshot”. After the screenshot is saved, we can open it from notifications bar.

The screenshot will be saved in Pictures > Screenshots folder on internal memory card.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed.
