We all love watching videos on YouTube, but one thing many users don’t like is the nagging advertisements. Some ads start before the video and some appear while playing the video. Wouldn’t it be great to skip these ads on YouTube? These types of ads are increasing, compared to some months ago. Many publishers have enabled the option to enable revenue sharing for the video, the outcome of this is that uploader and YouTube both earns from this. Many publishers are joining the YouTube Partner Program that means more ads for the viewer.
Google wants to earn money from this service, but many users are fed up with these video ads. Users are forced to watch the ads on the video. YouTube displays many different types of ads, one of which displays an option to skip the advt after 5 seconds. But what about those videos in which we cannot skip ads. There are many users that don’t mind watching 30 seconds ads before the video, but then after some time, the ads become repetitive.
Thankfully, there is a way to bypass ads on YouTube by using Google Chrome extension known as Skip Ads on YouTube. This extension skips the current advt and starts the main video.
Here’s how it works. Install this extension on your Google Chrome and start playing the video. If you see an advt, click on the blue play button that appears above the YouTube video player. This will reload the video, advt will be skipped and video will be played directly.
There is one minus point though. For each and every video, you’ll need to manually click on this blue play button to skip advertisements. Also this extension will only work on YouTube and not on any third party sites.
If you’re looking to skip YouTube ads automatically, then the developer has also created a paid version for this Chrome extension. Its known as “Skip ads on YouTube [Automatic Version]” and it costs $4.
Google Chrome users can download and install Skip ads on YouTube from the official Chrome web store. Go ahead, use this Chrome extension and improve your overall YouTube experience.
Note: Ads are not displayed on every YouTube video. You need to press this blue button only when you see that the video has started to play the advt or see that yellow line in the progress bar. That small yellow bar means the video will display transparent text or overlay ads on the lower portion of your video.
