dropbox

Heared this name? Dropbox. A very simple name but it can do wonders. In this digital age, we love our files very much. We can’t even think of loosing our important / precious files. That’s where Dropbox comes to the rescue. Ofcourse there are many websites which allow you to store files online, but dropbox is something different. It’s a somewhat new concept. I have been using Dropbox from more than a month and I love Dropbox. Lets see what makes Dropbox too good to use.

The question is what makes Dropbox so special. There are many file sharing sites, but why Dropbox? The answer is “synchronization”. The concept is simple, yet too effective. First of all, you’ll need to download the software, install it, and then create a account. Don’t forget to give your correct Email ID and password during the process. Now it will ask for “Dropbox Folder Location”. It is the location in your computer’s hard disk. Whichever files you need to upload, just copy and paste those files to this location. That’s it. Your files will be uploaded automatically. You can even add more PC’s and sync data across all of them. The current free account has a limit of 2 GB. You can gain some more space by referring Dropbox to your friends. This Dropbox software is available for Windows, Mac and Linux also. You can say, its a good multiplatform solution.

Lets look at another situation. Suppose you are in office and want to upload some files. Now you will just need to go to its website, login to your account and upload it. I must say here that upload speed of files is very fast. Now you just need to go home, connect internet and sit. Your files which you uploaded in office will automatically download in your home PC to your Dropbox Folder Location. Isn’t it too simple. You can also share these files with your friends. Just right click the file go to Dropbox and than click on “Copy Public Link”. Now share this link among your friends.
Features at a glance:

Share your large files easily.
Automatic data backup
Sync files of any type or size
Track the changes to your files (If you wish, you can even recover the older version of the file)
Multiplatform, supports Windows, Mac and Linux.

So now, don’t wait, download Dropbox from www.dropbox.com
