August 22, 2009 by Saqib 4 Comments

Samsung has launched a new waterproof mobile in the market, named Samsung MARINE B2100. So now you know what’s so special in this mobile. Its a mobile phone having features like waterproof, dust resistant and shock resistant. This phone can also be pronounced as an “Outdoor phone”. Let’s take a look at it.

Features of Samsung Marine B2100

  • Music player
  • FM radio
  • 1.3 MP Camera
  • Bluetooth
  • Memory card slot (Expandable upto 8 GB)
  • Flashlight (Very useful in places where there are frequent power cuts)

Below is the screenshot of this awesome phone.

Well, now we all know what’s so special in it.

I must say, I am impressed by this phone’s features and functionalities. This phone is very strong, enough to handle throwing from your hand to floor. This phone can survive upto 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Ok, I agree its not much, but then you aren’t really going to throw this under deep water, right ? Imagine if your phone is in your pant’s pocket and you throw it in to a washing machine, or when its raining, this phone can survive these conditions.

This handset is a GSM Quad-band handset supporting 850/900/1800/1900 bands. It also has GPRS and Edge Class 10. This phone has a music player supporting AAC, MP3, eAAC, eAAC+, WAV and WMA formats. The player has additional functionalities like it can be categorized into artist, album, etc. It also has a equalizer.

Overall, this phone is targeted to a very niche audience. Now coming towards cost. This one will cost you 7050 INR. If you are a person who keeps the phone drowning in water, then this phone is for you. There are not many phone’s in market which are waterproof. I think Samsung is now listening to Indian consumers and making good phones which are suitable for Indian conditions.  If you want to try yourself a good rugged phone, then I say try this, you won’t regret.

A few friends and myself have this phone down Island and the main problem seems to be reception. Very static.
Hard to have a clear conversation?
