Samsung has announced Galaxy Beam which is a projector phone with Android 2.3 and a 1GHz dual-core CPU. The main feature or attraction of this phone is it has integrated projector capable of 15 lumens of brightness. This projector can shoot a high definition image that’s up to 50 inches wide and allows users to freely share life’s memorable moments instantly and in crisp clarity, even in outdoor environments.
Galaxy Beam provides mobile freedom, enabling a unique shared experience around digital content for everyone—anywhere and instantly—from a smartphone as slim and portable as any on the market,” said JK Shin, President of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.

Galaxy Beam features a projector-dedicated application which makes it easy to select content and activate projection in a few simple steps, be it videos, pictures or games. The 5MP camera can capture video at 720p at 30fps. If 8GB internal memory is not enough then you can plug in a microSD card and expand the storage up to 32GB.
The device would have added more value if it would have integrated Android ICS, instead of the older Gingerbread. There is no word about the release date of Galaxy Beam. You can read the full press release from here.
