User accounts, like previous versions of Windows enables the user to create different accounts for different users. But home users, gamers and such other users don’t want to enter a password to login to Windows 8 everytime. The process is repetitive and time consuming. Fortunately, you can get rid of this behavior and bypass the login prompt of Windows 8.
You can enable automatic sign-in feature in Windows 8 and its too easy. Let’s learn how to do this.
Automatically Login to Windows 8 PC
- From the Windows 8 desktop screen, press Windows + R key to open the Run dialog box. In this Run box type netplwiz and press Enter. Or you can also select the search option from Start screen and search for netplwiz.
- This should open User Accounts box on the screen. You will be able to see a list of all the users on the current Windows 8 system. Click on the username for which you want to enable automatic login.
- After selecting the username, uncheck “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” option. Click on Apply button and then you will be prompted to enter the password and also confirm the password by entering it again.
- Click on OK and also click on OK on the User Accounts box.
After following these steps, restart your computer and you will observe that there won’t be any prompt for entering password. Windows 8 will boot automatically without the annoying password prompts everytime.
This small trick also works on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
