How to Easily Know the Latitude and Longitude of Any Location

At times, you might want a geographical answer for the question “Where am I located?” To answer such a question, you’ll need to determine the latitude and longitude for your current location. Now the good part is that there’s a very simple way to know the latitude and longitude of any location/place.

Talking about the ancient times, then in those times in Greece and China, attempts were made to create logical grid systems of the world. Also Ptolemy, the ancient Greek geographer in his book “Geography” listed the coordinates for various locations throughout the world. But the latitude and longitude system was implemented only in the Middle Ages.

These days we’re more aware of addresses of locations, and latitude and longitude are no longer given much importance because they’re hard to remember and can’t be easily located on the map. So let’s learn how to know the get these coordinates and then how to decipher it when required.

How to Get Latitude and Longitude of Any Place

To know the location coordinates, head over to itouchmap.com, enter the address for which you want to find the latitude and longitude and then click on the “Go” button.

If you’re not happy with the map’s current location, then you can also drag and drop the marker to the exact place (for example, a landmark, restaurant, hotel, cafe, or even your own house).

Scroll down and you’ll be able to see the latitude and longitude of your entered location. You can now note down these coordinates and even send it out to your friends and peers.

Now let’s say someone sent you the latitude and longitude details and you want to locate that on the map. Simply enter those details in the “Decimal Deg. Latitude” and “Decimal Deg. Longitude” section and click on “Show point” button. You’ll be instantly able to see the coordinates on the map.
