November 29, 2011 by Saqib Leave a Comment

Google Chrome is slowly becoming favorite browser of all. Thanks to its amazing features, minimalist looks and a number of useful extensions which can be downloaded from Chrome web store. One such useful extension is Ghost Incognito. This extension/add-on can remember the preference for certain sites so that when these sites load, Chrome will automatically load them in incognito mode. This extension will remember the sites which you always want to open in incognito mode, so that you don’t have to manually enable incognito mode every time and thereby automating private browsing.

For those who don’t know what “Incognito mode” is, basically its like “private browsing” which is available in Mozilla Firefox. Going incognito means that pages you view in that window won’t appear in your browsing history or search history, and also those pages won’t leave any other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close all open incognito windows.

Automate Private Browsing – Incognito Mode in Google Chrome

How exactly does this work? It’s pretty simple, just install this “Ghost Incognito” Google Chrome extension and then you will see a new button in your toolbar. (Refer below screenshot)
Ghost incognito

Click on this “Ghost” icon and the site will be added to the list. Follow the same procedure to add several domains which you want to always browse in incognito mode. Don’t worry, you can later on remove those blocked domains.

There are two ways to remove those blocked domains. Either by right clicking on this “Ghost” icon and clicking on Options. From here, click on Remove all domains. But this will remove all the domains (websites) added to this extension. What if you want to remove only one particular website? Follow the below process.

force incognito mode

Another way to remove any particular website, is to first allow the extension to run in “incognito” mode, this can be done by visiting extensions page by clicking on that “wrench” icon and clicking on “Options”.

allow incognito

Checkmark “Allow in incognito“. To remove a particular domain, click “Ghost” icon when visiting the page in incognito mode. This will prevent the site from being opened in incognito mode every time.

This is really a useful extension to force incognito for some websites, that you always wants to visit anonymously. Just add all the sites and then you won’t need to remember to switch to incognito mode again, as this extension will do this for you.

By default it turns on the incognito mode for all .XXX domains. Just keep on adding more domains by clicking on that handy icon. Go ahead, install this useful addon and automate surfing privately. Click on the below link to download this amazing Google Chrome extension:
