Tips to Save Battery Life for Android Device
Apart from this application, there are many things that we can do to increase battery life. Firstly, its important to know exactly what processes or applications are using your battery and then only we can do some preventive measures and control battery drain.
To know what has been using your battery, you can navigate to: Settings > Applications > Battery use
Notice cell standby, phone idle, display, Wi-Fi ,etc. Battery usage will depend on what you use the most, for example my device shows cell standby uses 48% battery. It may be different on your phone. But at least it gives you an idea of who/which applications and processes consume your battery and how much.
We can do some more tweaking from
Settings > Display > Brightness and Screen Timeout
Reduce the brightness from here and try out how it works for you. It may be possible that reading on screen may become difficult with reduced brightness, therefore don’t reduce much. Another setting is screen timeout. By default its set on 30 seconds but in case you’ve increased this timing to 1 minute, then reduce it to 30 seconds.
And lastly, sometimes we forget to turn OFF Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. So if you’re not using these connectivity options, then turn them OFF from notifications bar. In the same notification bar, we can also see running (ongoing) applications. Exit the application after accessing it from here or go to Task Manager and end the application from there. Hope these tips help you to extend battery life of your Android device.
