This is unbelievable but true. HP TouchPad which was costing $499 for 16GB and $599 for 32GB are now available at rock bottom prices of $99 for 16GB and $149 for 32GB (Wi-Fi edition). The company has decided to shut down its webOS group and may be that’s the reason why this tablet is available at such a reduced price. So it seems that HP has started to clear all inventories of TouchPad tablet.
In a memo sent to HP affiliates, the company issued the declaration to begin liquidating TouchPad inventories.
HP will be lowering the price of the TouchPad beginning Saturday 8/20/11. This is the lowest price ever for the TouchPad so please post it as soon as it goes live. 16GB TouchPad- $99; 32GB TouchPad – $149
This price reduction has led to increasing sales of this tablet and now its really hard to find the stock. Currently all the online stores who have listed this HP TouchPad at a reduced price are now out of stock. Well, who knows, just keep an eye over these online stores and they may re-list or head over to Wal-Mart or any other super store that have the stock.
First this fire sale started in Canada and then some online stores like Best Buy Canada and Future Shop listed this tablet at this reduced price. It seems that Amazon is still selling this at higher price. This tablet is out of stock on most online stores, but who knows, go ahead and try your luck, you may get one at discounted price.
But here comes the question, as declared by the company that they are shutting down their webOS group, is this tablet worth buying ? Answer in one word is “Yes”. This tablet has got some positive reviews and if not else, it works really well as an Email client and surfing the net. So those who are searching for a tablet but doubt if it suits them or not, can try this one, after all, you aren’t much losing from this – but just $99.

Hi Saqib, Great product at great price. But is it worth it to buy a product that’s about to die soon? Would you recommend buying it?
Saqib says
Yes, I would recommend it. If you don’t mind shelling out $99 for a product with dim future but acts as a good tablet for surfing and messaging, then go for it.
