November 10, 2012 by Saqib Leave a Comment

If you have got Amazon’s Kindle device, then you can send news articles, blog posts and other web content to your Kindle device using an extension for Firefox and Chrome. The best part of ‘Send to Kindle’ extension is that the articles are specially formatted for Kindle, without any distractions and you can send long articles for offline reading on your device. This extension means peace of mind, no advertisements and distraction free reading on Kindle. Just send any Web content to your Kindle and read it at your comfortable time. Let’s take a closer look at how this extension works.

How to Use Send to Kindle for Firefox and Chrome

Install the Send to Kindle extension for Firefox, and if you are on Chrome, then get it from Chrome’s Web Store. Once installed, you can see the Kindle button will appear in the top-right corner of the toolbar. Click on it and it will bring up a small options box.

  • Send to Kindle: This option will send the article/content immediately to your Kindle. The shortcut key for this is Alt+K. The first time you use it, you will need to enter your Amazon’s login details, choose delivery medium (via WiFi or Whispernet) and then choose the Kindle device to deliver to.
  • Preview & Send: If you want to first see a preview of the content, then use this option. This option can also be invoked by pressing the Alt+P key.
  • Send Selected Text: Many times you don’t want to send the complete web page to Kindle but only a portion of it. That’s where you can use this option. Firstly, select the text from the web page and then click on this option.
