September 11, 2010 by Saqib Leave a Comment

Have a website or a blog and do you think that someone is spamming too much from a particular IP address ? Or you think that someone is trying to insert malicious code or hack your website ? Then the solution is really simple. Simply block that IP address from accessing your website. Oh and its not that hard and doesn’t requires any coding or doing some ninja stuff. All you need is a cPanel and many popular hosting platforms offer cPanel.

  • Login to cPanel
  • From the “Security” section, click on “IP Deny Manager”

  • Now enter the IP address and click on “Add”. Also note the formats you can use while entering the IP address or the range. Yes you can also block a whole range of IP addresses.

Its done. You are now safe and now that IP address won’t bother you anymore.

How to know which IP is bad ?

For that you can use Google Analytics, statcounter, etc. When you check the “Recent came from” there would be that IP address accessing your website more than 3 or 4 times. Thats the IP you want to block. Normally in “recent came from” there would be website address but if its a IP, then you know which IP to block.
