How to Add a Website Shortcut to your Homescreen on Android

January 6, 2014 by Saqib Leave a Comment

There are tons of websites on the Internet, and some of them are such addictive that we check them often. Of course, for such sites we do have the bookmark feature in our web browsers, but then there’s a time when even our bookmarks get cluttered and we can’t find the website which we’re looking for. So how would you find the bookmark easily? Wouldn’t it be great if you can create a shortcut of the bookmark to the home screen? That’s exactly what we’re going to do in this quick tip.

Once you place a website shortcut to your homescreen, just a single tap on it will directly open that website. No more do you need to open the browser, search for the bookmark and then launch the website. The process is made just more simple and quick.

How to Add a Website Bookmark to the Homescreen

Step 1: Launch Chrome and then tap on the “star” icon from the bottom, or from the menu, tap on Bookmarks.

That’s all you need to do. Once you do this, a shortcut of the website will be instantly created and placed on the home screen. Now whenever you tap on this shortcut, it will directly take you to that bookmarked website, using the default web browser.
