Google maps keeps on getting better and better, and now is the turn for India. Google Street view is available in just 25 countries around the World, and now the Company has announced that Street view will be available in India in a short time. Bangalore will be the first city to get started for imagery collection. The famous Google street view cars will begin capturing street level photographs of public locations around this city. Bangalore is the city where many technology company are located in India. Don’t be surprised if you see any of Google cars and Trikes. Trikes are special vehicles that houses a camera at its top, and it can rotate at any axis. The vehicle has three wheels and go off on any surface, even the one which is not suitable for driving.
Product Head of Google India, Vinay Goel said, “We decided to start driving in Bangalore because it is the IT capital of India and feel that the IT savvy users will be able to leverage the benefits of the product to the fullest. Street View is useful for urban development planners, law enforcement agencies, househunters, and travelers”.
In a statement, the Company said “It will be as good as walking down the street from the comfort of your desktop or mobile device”. Google will be sending out cars and the more maneuverable three-wheelers to reach to as many parts of India as possible.
Google has developed technology to blur human faces and also the number plates of vehicles to render them unidentifiable while viewing them. The company will follow all the laws and security policies of India.
So now let’s see when Google completes collecting all the imagery and when we could see them on street view.
