If you’ve opened many apps in your Android smartphone then you can experience some sluggishness. That’s because memory is utilized by all those open apps and there’s not enough free RAM (memory). In such situations you need to close some apps to regain speed. Memory Booster is a powerful mobile memory and RAM boosting tool that can help you in reclaiming lost memory in an Android phone.
RAM management is very complicated in Android OS that’s because this OS is based on a Linux kernel. The hardware (phone) itself will utilize a good amount of memory. Then other system components will utilize RAM and then comes the third party apps. The below screenshot is taken from a Galaxy Y phone, running just one app named as Juice Defender.
Isn’t it surprising that after running a single app and under normal usage, the phone utilizes 204 MB of RAM out of a total of 290 MB (Please note that this is just an example taken from Galaxy Y, this usage may vary depending on your exact model).
Memory Booster – RAM Optimizer App
Now that’s where this memory booster app comes in. This app takes care of memory management of your Android device. Memory Booster reclaims lost memory for your programs by defragmenting your smartphone’s memory and recovering memory leaks from poorly behaved applications.
The app monitors memory in real-time and presents status report. It provides a live chart to demonstrate your device’s total/free memory and current memory usage.
The interface is clean and simple. Just start this app and click on “Quick Boost” to manually boost your memory. After the process is complete, you’ll be presented with a detailed report on free memory, boost time, boost type and how much memory is recovered (Refer below image).
The app displays information in Bytes. Let’s hope that the developer changes this to MB so that its easy to interpret the results. Now whenever you think that the phone is acting slow, do try out freeing some RAM with this app and notice the performance improvement. It is possible that the improvement is not noticeable, in such a case open your “Task Manager” and close some active apps.
Memory Booster – RAM Optimizer is available in two versions – Lite (free) and Full (paid) version. Go ahead and download it from Android Market.
Note that there is a separate app available if you’re using Android tablet. For a tablet, you can download and install Memory Booster tablet version.
