How many apps do you install on a regular basis? Well, chances are that by now you must have tried many apps; some you might have found useful while some just for curiosity’s sake. After trying it out, you might have removed the app from your Android device to free up some space. But did you know that over time, a pile of cache files stack up which are not deleted even when the app is uninstalled. You can only delete such files if you know from where to find such files, and what should you be deleting. That’s where Clean Master steps in. Clean Master is a spring cleaning app for Android devices that removes unnecessary files, wipes out device history, uninstalls apps and also comes with a task killer.
Clean Master comes with a very simple, de-cluttered interface that helps you do exactly what its name suggests. When you launch the app, from the very first screen, you’ll be able to see how much you have used / free space on your device. It shows this data for SD card as well as device storage (internal memory). If you’ve used this app to clean up some space, then the app will also display how much space you’ve gained by cleaning up your device.
Tap on “Junk Files” to remove junk / cache files. The app will display which apps have cache files that you can remove and the size of it. For example, in the below screenshot you can see that Chrome has a cache of 202.69MB. If you want to remove cache of a particular app then tap on the app’s name and then on “Clean”, but if you want to remove cache of all apps, then tap on the blue “Clean” button from the bottom of the screen.
The app also allows you to terminate a task that’s running in your device. Tap on “Tasks” from the main screen of the app and then you’ll be able to see apps that are active. Click on the blue “Clean” button to kill that task and free up some RAM. This will also help you to save some battery juice since less apps will be using your RAM.
The “App Manager” let’s you uninstall apps. Tap on a apps name and then on “Uninstall” to remove that app from your Android device. The “Backups” section displays apps that you’ve backed up with the APK files. Tap on an app and then on “Clean” to remove the APK for that particular app from your device. This is very useful if you’ve installed some apps using the APK file, but then later on you’ve forgot to remove the APK file. With this option, you won’t need to hunt for the APK using any file manager.
The “Privacy” option helps you clean up account, password, settings, messages, and more. It basically redirects you to the Apps Info page of Android which can be accessed from Settings from where you need to click on “Clear data” button.
Overall, this is a very useful app for those who want to gain some free space on their Android phone or tablets. If your device is running out of space and you’re not exactly sure what to delete, then this app is worth giving a shot at. Plus you’re getting task manager, privacy fixer and apps manager as an added bonus.
