How to Charge Your Phone/Tabet Faster When You Are in a Hurry

April 10, 2013 by Saqib 1 Comment

battery-power Sometimes it might happen that you want to charge your phone/tablet faster because of some reason, let’s say you are heading to watch a movie or you’re heading to the airport. During such times, you can’t wait for your device to charge fully. In such a case, you may want something that can charge up your phone or tablet in less time, rather than the regular time it takes to charge up. The million dollar question is that can you make your phone charge faster? Some might wonder; is this even possible? Well, there are some tips that will help you to do this exactly.

So let’s take a look at some tips to make your phone and tablet charge faster. Here are 5 tips that will help you to fill up more battery juice, in a short time.

Switch to Airplane mode

Before charging, switch your phone to airplane mode (also known as flight mode on some phones). This will turn off all of the wireless radios inside, which means during this mode, you won’t be able to connect to the internet, make or receive a call, use Bluetooth, GPS and data. You’ll need to sacrifice something to get some more battery juice.

Close open applications

You might be doing multitasking and running many apps in the background. That’s why, close all open applications. The less apps that are running in the background, the better it is. If there are many apps running, then they’ll consume more battery and thus the main purpose behind charging is lost. In the end, they’ll end up consuming more battery.

Charge from power outlet and not from USB port

Instead of charging your device from the USB port of your computer or car, charge the device by plugging it directly into a power outlet. The problem with USB ports is that they may not supply the required amount of amps per USB port and thus, limiting the charging speed of your phone. That’s why, if you are near to a power outlet, then use your charger and connect your device to it. This method should be preferred instead of connecting to a USB port.

Switch to Sleep Mode

Enable the sleep mode on your phone when you start charging. Most phones automatically go to sleep mode when inactive for a period of time. If your phone does not switch to sleep mode, then go to the Display settings section and configure the setting from there.

Use Asus Ai Charger

Use Asus Ai Charger, a free utility that lets you to charge the Apple devices from your PC’s USB port. You might have experienced that some devices like iPad don’t charge via the USB port, but the Ai charger utility works like a magic. Once you install it, you’ll then be able to charge the iPad, plus devices like iPhones and iPods charge 50 percent faster using standard USB ports.

As per Asus, this utility is not limited to Asus motherboards, but it works on all systems. All you need is this utility and an iDevice. Some folks have also reported that this utility works on some non-Apple devices too, and that’s why you can try out connecting other devices too.

So go ahead, try out these fast charging methods and let me know your opinion on how well they work by commenting below.
