Apple has launched iPad, a shining new gadget. The CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs has unvieled this new device, which is a lookalike of iPhone. It resembles like a big iPhone. Ofcourse it operates via touch like the iPhone. As said by Steve Jobs, this iPad is intended to offer good web browsing. It also has iTunes, through which you can play and view the video and audio.
The user interface is also like the iPhone. Also it will run all the iPod aaplications. But I don’t think this device can be used as a primary portable device. Think of this 10″ device taking everywhere you go, I don’t think it’s a good idea to dump your iPod for that. So this device comes in between iPod Touch / iPhone and Macbook. Also don’t think that this will take place of Macbook.
Ofcourse you can also read books, read newspapers, listen music and all, but you’ll need to purchase them through Apple Store.
Lets take a look at iPad’s technical specifications:
Height: 9.56 inches (242.8 mm)
Width: 7.47 inches (189.7 mm)
Depth: 0.5 inch (13.4 mm)
Weight: 1.5 pounds (0.68 kg) Wi-Fi model
Processor: 1 GHz Apple A4
Capacity: 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB Flash drive
Display: 9.7-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display

Now lets take a look at iPad’s pricing:
Wi-Fi only iPad:
16 GB – $499, 32GB – $599, 64GB – $699
Wi-Fi+3G iPad:
16 GB – $629, 32GB – $729, 64GB – $829
So by this you can say that the cheapest model costs $499. Good pricing here. Also there will be two models, one with only Wi-Fi and other with Wi-Fi and 3G. But only time will tell that will it be a hit like iPod or the iPhone. Its a speculation that iPad will be available in April to the end users.
Milda Bunde says
The Zune concentrates on becoming a Portable Media Player. Not a internet browser. Not a sport machine. Perhaps in the future it’ll do even far better in people regions, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and pay attention to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its internet searching and apps. If those sound much more compelling, possibly it is your ideal alternative.
