Airtel has launched 16 MBPS broadband on 6th April. Initially, it will be available in New Delhi NCR, Bangalore and Chennai. However Airtel said that it will be expanding its high-speed DSL broadband coverage to other cities also.
There will not be any unlimited plans in this 16 MBPS plan. A minus point to “downloaders”. In this plan you’ll be paying 4999 Rs with fixed line Airtel phone and a 50 GB data transfer plan. Prices are high as of now.
Joint President of Bharti Airtel Telemedia Services said, “Airtel has constantly strived to innovate and deliver high quality products to its broadband customers. We are the leading private broadband service provider in the country and pioneered 8 Mbps broadband. It gives us great pleasure now to be able to introduce the fastest, wired broadband service on DSL. We will be able to offer 16 Mbps broadband to 70% of the households in the 3 cities of Delhi NCR, Chennai and Bangalore.”
Access to consumers will be provided by ASDSL & copper cables, and is powered by Airtel’s Carrier Ethernet service. I hope we can get Internet with good speeds in the near future.
