Shocking news. I don’t know how can this happen. This thing is floating around the net speedily. Microsoft Security Essentials, which is codenamed Morro, has been leaked. Its a free antivirus offering from Microsoft, which will replace Windows Defender and Windows Live OneCare.
These are the screenshots of MSE. Microsoft is going to release Microsoft Security Essentials public beta testing in September 2009. And the final version will be available only in the end of 2009. Microsoft Security Essentials have some good features like spywares, rootkits, trojans, virus detections. But afterall, it is a free software, so don’t think that it will also have firewall. Overall, I think there are nice features in MSE.
Microsoft employees have been testing Microsoft Security Essentials since June 1, 2009. And now there are leaked versions of it on the net, because of some employees. This freeware will be compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. Just an endnote, to run MSE , you need to pass the WGA test. So those who don’t have genuine Windows may face trouble to install this freeware. Lets see whats there in the final version for us, afterall, it is from Microsoft.
