Barnes & Noble Launches Nook Tablet – Preorder Starts

Tablet lovers, here comes one more player in this competitive market. Barnes and Noble have launched Nook tablet, a new addition to the Nook family. According to the company, this is the “fastest, lightest tablet with the best in HD entertainment”. We’ll need to wait for the review to see if it really is the fastest and lightest tablet out there.

Let’s get into the nitty gritty details of this new player. Nook tablet features 7-inch VividView Color Touchscreen, 16 million+ colors with IPS2 display. Resolution is 1024 X 600, 169 pixels per inch. Tablet can render 1080p without any problem.

Talking about storage, this tablet offers 16 GB built-in memory with the option to expand up to 32GB using microSD memory card. In regards to battery, it can give up to 11.5 hours of reading or 9 hours of video (with Wi-Fi turned off).

This new tablet can offer over 2.5 million books, newspapers, magazines, kids books and comics & graphic novels; favorite movies and TV shows from Netflix and Hulu Plus; millions of songs to choose from; thousands of apps, emails, web surfing and much more.

Nook tablet is available for $249 and can now be pre-ordered from their official site. And that’s not all, the new and improved NOOK Simple Touch can be bought at $99, while NOOK Color is also attractively priced at $199.
