There are many windows programs for this, TeamViewer being the popular one. Some apps like iChat and Skype integrate remote access in their software too.
Quick Screen Share with Join.me
Nowadays screen sharing has become ridiculously easy, thanks to a number of solutions. Join.me is a free web based app that lets us share the screen, allows other to control the mouse or chat with viewers.
You can review documents, designs, use it for educational purposes, demo products, train staff, configure settings and what not. It can also come in handy when you want to quickly offer technical support to your friend or family member. Sometimes things just doesn’t end up well on phone sessions, therefore in this case we can use join.me to offer technical live assistance.
How Join.me Works
Head over to https://join.me and click on “Share”. Download the program and install it. After installing, the program will launch and you’ll see a small toolbar at the top side of the screen.
Now, to share the screen, click on the link at the top bar and click “Copy viewer to clipboard”. Send this link to all the participants to whom you want to share the screen with. When they open that link in a web browser, they’ll see your desktop/screen. From this we can say that participants don’t need to install any software, all they need is a web browser.
Use the icons from the toolbar to perform different operations like chatting, calling, pause screen, view participants and give mouse control to viewers. You didn’t thought that screen sharing is this easy, did you?
Screen sharing: This web app allows us to share the screen with others. This means that the person whom you share the screen can see what you’re doing on the computer.
Grant control: The participant can control your screen. This is useful when both parties want to discuss on any presentation/document or for solving technical problems.
Chat: The chat feature allows us to chat with one person at a time or all participants simultaneously.
Send file: You can send a file to any single participant or complete group.
The free version allows upto 250 viewers (also known as participants). In most cases, there won’t be 250 viewers. There’s also Join.me pro version that offers more features.
