How To Configure Exchange ActiveSync For Hotmail, Gmail And Google Apps

Access the “email” application from menu and tap on “New”. Tap on “Exchange ActiveSync”.

iOS users can do this from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.

Enter your full email address in both Email and Username fields. Enter a password and in the next screen, enter “server URL” as for those who are configuring Gmail and Google Apps account. If you are configuring a Hotmail account, then enter as server URL Leave the “domain” field as blank. And lastly, enable SSL.

This is how the final settings will look like (for Google Apps users). Here are the settings at glance:

  • Server / URL: (for Hotmail) and (for Gmail and Google Apps).
  • Username: Enter full email address.
  • Domain: Leave this as blank.
  • SSL: Enable SSL.
