Android is an OS by Google. It was previously specifically designed for smartphones, but will be coming for PC’s soon. No one imagined this. The date for its release is not announced yet, but lets hope it is good. It will be a Linux based OS. So you can tell a new competitor is coming in the market.
Mostly Linux is considered for Netbooks/Nettops because manufacturers wish to reduce the cost of the netbook/Nettop. Because if they install Windows OS, then the price will increase by some $$. So, its a nice decision to use open source software (Linux) in these type of PC’s.
Currently HP & Asustek are evaluating Android as a potential or a good candidate for their upcoming products. But the concern is, will the new consumers accept it? And learn how to use a new OS? We geeks therefore like to learn new things but what about normal PC users? Well, lets see what happens. We keep our fingers crossed for Google Android and are here to welcome it.
